Primary Duties
As a key member of the Global Mobility team, the Global Mobility Analyst will be responsible for delivering Shire’s global relocation and assignment programs, both domestic and international, including immigration services.
The Global Mobility Analyst will provide excellent service to the business, HR, and employees. The successful candidate will work with other members of the team to develop and implement strategies to continue the evolution of Shire’s relocation and immigration programs. Working closely with internal functional and business teams as well as partnering with external providers, the Global Mobility Analyst will offer consulting services and ultimately deliver these programs to ensure a highly efficient and smooth experience for participants.
  • 65% – Primary point of contact with respect to relocations, assignments, and inpatriate/expatriate matters, handling questions from HR colleagues, management and employees regarding domestic and international relocations (new hires, transfers, IA), providing subject matter expertise on all components of the relocation/IA process (physical goods move, tax, immigration, destination services and government compliance). Assess and interpret immigration and relocation/IA requirements of the employees as well as deliver accurate information to stakeholders in a timely fashion
  • 10% – Provides continuing advice and support to both client and assignees, maintaining regular contact throughout the relocation or assignment. Expected to develop creative solutions to a variety of diverse and complex problems.
    • Produce cost estimates and calculate assignment allowances
    • Manages payments related to the assignment including payroll instructions, expenses, and invoices.
  • 10% – Continuous development of relocation/IA programs, based on collection & analysis of key metrics, measures, industry standards and employee/business feedback. Within scope of role, interpret policy and answer questions related to Shire’s Relocation/IA programs. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Develops and delivers presentations, update program related documentation, & may represent Global Mobility team on cross-functional projects
  • 5% – Accountable for data capture, file management, and reporting on immigration, relocation/IA metrics
  • 10% – Partner with and manage external service providers to ensure efficient & seamless service delivery, identify and resolve any issues or escalate as required

Education and Experience Requirements
  • 1 – 3 years of experience and subject matter expertise in delivering programs and services within two of three core areas: International Assignments, Immigration, and Relocation.
  • Knowledge of immigration policies and procedures pertaining to work permits, visas and permanent relocations.
  • Knowledge of tax implications for relocations and International Assignment Programs with the ability to interpret and explain to employees, HRBPs, and managers.
  • Bachelor degree in Business discipline or equivalent proven experience, superior communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)

  • As SME for Mobility Programs, advises, consults and coordinates with HRBPs, Line Managers, transferring employees, external tax advisors, external expat consultants, external immigration attorneys, and external relocation vendors.>
